Dog Parks & Beaches in New Brunswick
Dieppe Dog Parks
From Mike O. - "The
Dieppe dog park
is located by the old airport, located at 60 Copp Street. Features two spacious sections with enclosed
shelters. One for large and one for small dogs. Well lit at night and well maintained."
-
Dog Parks from the City of Fredericton website:
- Knowledge Park Drive Dog Park - 600 Knowledge Park Dr.
2 fenced acres; benches; water access; separate areas for large and small dogs; no smoking allowed; no children under 12
- Cityview Dog Park - Cityview Avenue, off of Main Street
3/4 acre, fenced; benches, garbage cans, sun shelter; separate areas for large and small dogs; no children under 12
From Amber P: "Small dog/puppy area and large dog area. The north side dog park is fenced in and provides
clean-up equipment and water for dogs. Double-gated entry ensures safety of dogs inside."
From Kendra J. - "I thought I would add to the list of Dog parks in New
Brunswick. It's in Fredericton, and while it isn't officially a dog park, the only
people who do walk its trails are dogs and their owners! It the UNB Woodlot. There are
several little trails, but there are three main 'roads', a 5 km, a 4 km, and a 2 km.
It's on Kimble Drive behind the new Winners and Home Depot."
Hanwell Dog Park
-
Hanwell Recreation Park, 18 Nature Park Drive
From Katharine R. - "The best off leash dog park in New Brunswick, that
I am aware of, is the off leash trails (loop 2 and 3, 3km and 4.5km respectively) at the Hanwell Recreation Park,
near Fredericton, NB. Dogs must be on leash until they get to the off leash loops. This dog park/trail is the best
because they are walking trails for a great walk and lots of trees to sniff, and not just boring fenced in areas.
Waste bags available, convenient waste bins on trail. This is a multi-use trail, and great all year round. May
be muddy during the spring melt, however. There is a nice children's playground in the beginning of the park
(trail in beginning is not off-leash)."
- Centennial Park Dog Park - 811 St. George Boulevard, Moncton
From Lise R. - "In Moncton we have 2 dog parks
(one for small dogs & one for big dogs) at the Centennial Park on St-Georges Street.
It is a beautiful & clean park."
- Irishtown Nature Park (this is NOT an off-leash park, but dogs are welcome)
From Stephanie - "Irishtown Nature Park
is located in Moncton, up Elmwood Drive at the beginning of Irishtown. Beautiful trail
with paved/pebbled/beat dirt paths that go around the Irishtown Reservoir and through forested
areas where squirrels are fed. Doggy poop bags are provided and there are garbage cans in
several locations throughout the trails. There are even bathrooms for humans at some point.
Many people who walk there have big dogs but really anyone can go. Some well-trained dogs are
off-leash but most dogs are kept on leashes."
Oromocto Dog Park
- Oromocto Dog Park - Lawfield Drive
From Shawn C. - "There is a dog park in Oromocto, off Lawfield Drive,
very close to CFB Gagetown. It has a double-gated entry, and separate areas for large and small dogs."
Quispamsis Dog Park
- Homestar Off Leash Dog Park - 222 Vincent Road
fenced 1/2 acre; 1 km perimeter trail; separate areas for small and large dogs; open dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted
From Robin T. - "A dog park in Quispamsis is
on Vincent Road between Quispamsis Road and Gondola Point Arterial Road. The official name is
Homestar Dog Park."
Riverview Dog Park
- Isaac's Run Dog Park - located at the end of Biggs Drive behind the Tennis Courts.
From Kevin C. - "There is a new dog park in Riverview called
Isaac's Run. The park is off-leash and there is a swim park for the dogs. Waste bags are available."
- Rockwood Park Bark Park
fenced; has a small fenced area to allow dogs to play alone or to acclimate first before entering the larger area; dog bags on-site
- Bark Park - located at the end of McLeod Drive.
fenced 3/4 acre; accessible from walking trail
