Some of you may have heard about the Hike With Your Dog
website -- it's a wonderful site that features dog-friendly
trails so that you can enjoy a day outdoors with the pooch.
Their site is located at www.hikewithyourdog.com.
Well, now they've just released The Canine Hiker's Bible:
A Companion for the Active Dog Owner. Great photos, lots
of info on all sorts of trails from across the United
States and Canada. There's lots more, too -- but you can
get more information here.
This 8 1/2" x 11" softcover book (256 pages) sells for
USD $19.95 plus shipping and handling ... but the PET
FRIENDLY Directory has just a few copies available at
a discounted price. First come, first serve.
Thanks, as always, for your support of the PET FRIENDLY
Directory.
See you next month.

FEATURED PET QUOTES:
"I have felt cats rubbing their faces against mine and
touching my cheek with claws carefully sheathed. These
things, to me, are expressions of love." (James Herriot)
"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives
whole." (Roger Caras)
PHOTOS FROM OUR READERS:
"This is a pix of my Siberian Husky named
Tundra! She just loves to mush around Sheridan
Lake, BC. Actually, she is now a little forlorn as the
snow is disappearing, but she is never far from her
sled... just in case a spring snow storm arrives. ;)"
- Dana Day, sent in April, 2004
|
"Puppy Dakotah (Akita, 4 months) and buddy
Caesar (Great Dane x Lab, 3 years), best friends,
hanging out in the back yard on a warm afternoon. Both
are loved to death by their respective Gagné families
in Montreal, QC."

FEATURED: GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY, NOVA SCOTIA
Guysborough County lies along the eastern shore of Nova
Scotia. With many areas of unspoiled natural beauty, it
offers vacationers plenty of places to explore -- or to
just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Spend the day at one of the many beaches that populate
the rugged coastline. If you prefer to take the pooch
for a nature walk, you'll find many superb hiking trails
both near the coastline as well as inland, including the
Guysborough Nature Trail, the first section of Trans
Canada trail which extends 48km from the village into
the provinces interior and features waterfalls & a cable
suspension bridge.
Finish off a day of adventure by relaxing at one of the
"picnic parks", or day-use recreational areas. You can
also browse one of several museums, or take in one of
the many festivals and events that occur throughout the
year.
For more information on Guysborough Country, please call
the Guysborough County Regional Development Authority at
1-800-355-3731.
Not all events or attractions permit pets.
Please contact them directly prior to bringing your pet.
